Oliver Sweeney’s Manchester store has been shortlisted for the Architects’ Journal small project Awards.

The Architects’ Journal is the UK’s leading independent weekly architecture magazine and has launched its annual search for the best small-scale architectural gems.  The Oliver Sweeney Manchester store has made it into the shortlist out of the 200 competition entries.

The store was designed by the award winning practice, Urban Salon and features a seamless glass wall which dramatically increases the visibility into the store and allows copious amounts of natural lighting, creating an exciting shopping experience. The store also incorporates eco-friendly techniques using fibre optic and LED lighting to reduce electricity consumption.

All 24 shortlisted schemes will be exhibited at New London Architecture between 8 Feb and 8 March http://www.newlondonarchitecture.org/

The best projects will also be showcased in two special editions of The Architects’ Journal and the winner will be announced on 9 February.
