A collaboration that brings together one of Britain’s new breed of designers with an artisan brand that has been around for over 20 years, this collection of footwear encapsulates both partners’ interest in the interaction between product and wearer.

A single expedition, starting from the centre of London, and moving out to Epping, proved to be the journey that enabled Matthew to source all his research and inspiration for the AW12 collection. Introducing his carefully selected prints of destinations along his journey to Oliver Sweeney allowed them to marry their expertise to produce a unique footwear range.

The collection is defined by the selection of digital prints applied to Sweeney’s high grade leather by their English leather print specialist, but only once they have been individually resized to create a finish that displays the minute details of each environment they portray. Each pair comes with the exact detail of their geographical and digital location coordinates, and in line with the theme of Matthew’s entire collection, contains interactive features to enable the wearer to locate the origins of and inspirations behind their garments.

As much attention has been paid to the finish of each pair. Based around an English made Itshide Commando sole, with shearling fur lining and Blake stitch construction, each design is named after the location from which its print derives.
