Our classic low-top cupsole trainer is made from an inky blue calf leather with a soft sheen. The upper is fabric lined with a padded collar lined in suede and a cushioned leather insock. The trainer is made in the traditional way and secured with a side stitch to the white rubber cupsole.

The Cupsole Construction

Unlike a vulcanised construction where the sole is baked onto the upper, our cupsoles are made in the traditional way. The upper is lasted to a soft insole, the cupsole is then secured by stitching around the top of the rim to the upper. This produces a comfortable, practical shoe with a more refined look.

Made in India

Based in Chennai in Southern India, our family run factory group is accredited for its exacting, high ecological and ethical standards. With over 50 years of experience in traditional shoe making, the factories are masters at Blake Stitched, Norwegian welted and are considered to be among the best in the world for the Goodyear welted construction. The major difference is that the highly skilled craftsmen have also mastered the Italian art of Tamponato and hand finishing, producing high quality footwear with a hand built depth of colour and unique antiqued patina.
