Our new Arnold trainer has a unique LACTAE HEVEA sole. Farmed in a completely sustainable, ecological way, the Heavea trees are tapped for their milk, which is then refined to produce a natural, slightly translucent gum sole – tiny bubbles of air are formed in the process producing a super flexible ‘walking on air’ comfort. The retro 1970s style upper is made from a super soft khaki calf suede with a fine nap and is lined in flexible calf leather, reinforcing the upper, but keeping it supple and as comfortable as a slipper. The heel counter is trimmed with calf leather with a retro stripe on the back counter.

A really good fit.

A really good fit for me. I have wide feet and a high arch so, a lot of your shoes do not fit me as they're too narrow. Which is a shame because I would buy more.

Smart, casual, comfortable!

Lovely looking shoe. As others have mentioned, it's a shame it isn't available in a half size though.

Very flat sole. Leather inside

Very flat sole. Leather inside is soft but it does not feel real.

Not to the usual Oliver Sweeney standard.

Not to the usual Oliver Sweeney standard. I will start by saying I am a big fan of Oliver Sweeney shoes. I have half a dozen pairs of OS shoes in my wardrobe, and these are the third pair I have purchased in 12 months. The other two pairs were both Italian manufacture and are superb in style, quality of manufacture and comfort. These latest shoes are the opposite; the finish is poor (I had to trim several pieces of material which protruded above the rubber sole, the stitching holding the sole to the upper is uneven and the upper is creased in places) They are uncomfortable even though they 'fit' and are my size, due to seams that rub my toes and the sole which has no give and I have had to use gel heals to improve them. These shoes were manufactured in Indian and clearly to a much lesser standard (I have similar shoes which cost a fraction of the price and beat them hands down in comfort and standard of finish) and I will in future stick to Italian manufactured OS shoes and will never buy their Indian manufactured shoes again!
