After 30 years of designing and making, we’ve been asking ourselves - what really makes us stand out from the crowd? We believe it’s down to our timeless style with a modern twist, plus our meticulous attention to detail on shoes that are built to last.
Every shoe in our collection is hand-finished focusing on three traditional techniques – Hand Antiquing, Dip Dyeing and Tamponato – to ensure no two pairs are ever the same.
In fact, the hand-finished element goes across our complete collection – even our socks are finished by hand on the shores of Lake Garda in Italy.
Darkening certain areas of the leather gives our shoes all the character of an older shoe, but without the wear. The process is done through dyeing, then carefully adding layer after layer of darker polish by hand to give a beautifully worn, antique-like finish.
This technique is time consuming and tricky but the results speak for themselves. The shoe is made in neutral leather, immersed completely in the dye and then tumbled in large wooden drums to give a truly unique distressed effect.
Tamponato is a traditional Italian way of shading leather. It’s a highly skilled technique that gives our leather shoes a characterful and unique finish, ensuring no two pairs are identical.
Our clothing has a lived-in look that is beautifully soft and comfortable. This is achieved by immersing the finished garments in colour, rather than using a yarn that is pre dyed. This process results in one-of-a-kind items that differ slightly in colour and shade, much like our leather shoes.
All our luxuriously soft cotton socks are crafted on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy. Each pair is finished with hand-linked toes, a process in which the stitches on each side of the toe seam are linked to create on flat seam that offers an unbelievable seamless feel.
