Description

Our iconic Penacova is now available in a dark tan, waxy pull-up calf leather from the Boaventura Tannery in Portugal. The leather has a casual feel with natural tonal variation. The simple upper pattern has a padded collar, a full leather lining and leather cushioned insock. Our deeper profile rubber cupsole in dark brown makes for a practical, sturdier trainer with a great new look.

Good looking, comfortable & practical leather trainer. Smart & understated for work and play!! Definitely need the 1/2 size up as I did try the size 10 originally. Very, very snug so sent back and reordered the 10.5. I have wide feet so the extra 1/2 size definitely needed. Have worn once all day walking around London…so far so good…comfortable if a little pricey but worth it!! Hopefully they will wear well like my other OS shoes!

Impressive craftsmanship but poor attention to handling/shipping

I ordered a pair of these as a guy who doesn't normally wear sneakers, wanting to pair them with some chinos. I was impressed with the build of these and the solidness of the sole and shoe. You feel more like you're wearing a pair of boots than some sneakers but they're not bulky enough to be unpleasant. They are a little bit uncomfortable to drive with, especially if you have a manual car. My biggest issue was they arrived scratched already, probably during the packing process. After reading some reviews here it is apparently quite common so I did not bother to contact them.

You judge a man, by the shoes he wares.

These shoes look good in the box, look great on your feet. The look makes them ideal for formal office attire and an afternoon out with friends where trainers don't cut it.
The fit feels snug but not tight, very comfortable when clocking up the miles on a city commute. I have not worn them in the wet as of yet but as with all the pairs if Sweenys I have thats never been an issue. I had a pair of these in an ox blood colour about ten years ago, they have served me well and are still continue to do so, they may be pricey but we'll worth it in the long run.
