Description

Our new Chelsea Desert boot is made from Mastrotto calf suede - a soft calf suede with a fine nap. The upper is a simple Chelsea boot pattern, cut relatively low with matching sturdy elastic and a handy suede back pull tab. Inside there is a calf leather lining with a padded full leather insock. As with a traditional desert boot, the sole is made from natural crepe rubber – an extremely comfortable, durable rubber – with a Blake stitched construction, topped with a natural leather stitched rand.

Blake Stitched Construction

Our Italian shoes are made using the traditional Blake stitched construction. The stitching of the leather upper through the insole and sole removes the need for a welt, creating a beautiful and refined shoe.

Suede may be a little more delicate than leather, but cleaning and caring for suede shoes is a lot easier than you think

I'm sure these boots will give me years of great service as all my OS foot ware has......still wearing one set of shoes regularly 15 years on and going strong. As my OS shoes are usually perfection I will comment on two minor areas....1. there are subtle deficiencies in the suede leather, not enough to return but not perfect. 2. agree with one comment that the ring pull at the back is not big enough to put finger through. Don't let those 2 minor comments deter you though....more a note for consideration to the designer/cobbler. These are fine boots.
