Description

Our Fisherman’s sandal is from our specialist factory in Spain. The upper pattern was traditionally designed as cool summer footwear made from straps to allow water to flow out and secured to the foot with a back strap. The central strap equally secures the foot from the front of the shoe and offers ‘toe modesty’ for those that require it! We’ve selected a sand oiled calf nubuck for the leather with an antiqued brass buckle for the three-hole strap adjustment. Additional comfort is provided by the extra layer of cushioning between the leather sock lining and moulded cork footbed which is finished with a lightweight practical rubber outsole.

I love Oliver Sweeney footwear, especially their boots, but these sandals missed the mark for me. The sizing is really weird - the first pair I tried were nominally my size, but the soles were way too big. The second had soles the right size but the buckle was really hard to fasten and the strap seemed too short. I'm going to stick to their sneakers.

Aaaaagh Sizing!!!

I read that you should order one size down, so I ordered a 9, rather than my usual 10. They arrived and there's was a good 2-3 inches of excess for room. Returned, exchanging for size 8. These are better, although not perfect, length wise, but now cannot do the rear straps up, they're simply not long enough to meet the buckles! Have asked for a refund this time. I'm quite disappointed, as they look lovely and the leather seems very nice, especially the rear straps, which are beautifully soft and supple. Maybe they'll work for you, who knows!
