Description

Our lightweight hiker is made from antique finished burgundy calf leather. The boot has a comfortably cushioned collar and tongue and a series of antique brass D-rings and ski hooks to ensure a flexible fit. We’ve added a tongue guard over the top of the tongue for extra protection from the elements. Inside there is a full leather cushioned insock and a ¾ calf leather lining. The upper is cemented to a Finproject ExtraLight sole - a deceptively lightweight, chunky cleated sole topped with a leather rand.

What an absolute gem of find! My last pair of Sweeney boots was in 1999…so when these appeared in the sale I jumped at the chance. I was not disappointed! From the delivery to packaging, to quality of the leather, to comfort, I cannot find anything that isn’t excellent about either the boot or the process. I don’t know how these will fare over time but given the apparent quality of materials, build and comfort (they’re SO immediately comfy!!) I’m hopeful!

Not bad but

These boots are better than pavement hiking but I would worry if doing a serious venture. Well made but the last used is a bit odd, very low over the middle of the foot. Fine after a couple of days with a shoe stretcher. In short a good boot at the sale price but check carefully they fit.

This is the second pair of these boots that I have bought, albeit different colours.
From new, these boots fit perfectly and without any hassle to get my foot in them. From previously, these boots are really practical, rugged but smart, hard wearing but comfortable.
I’m super happy and I haven’t even worn this pair yet!
