Description

Our ‘elite’ Spanish espadrilles are in a league of their own. Hand stitched in Spain with a supremely soft fine napped neutral stone suede, Montilla is a loafer design with a hand stitched apron, a cushioned leather insock and a calf leather lining for some structure at the front, with a soft suede lining at the heel, to allow the back to be trodden down if required (or worn on the heel if preferred). Aside from the elegant appearance the construction creates concealed practicality. The sole is formed from rubber wrapped in jute and secured with a side stitch with a textured rubber outsole. We’ve selected a premium rich brown natural woven jute, darker than standard, to create an altogether elevated look.

Suede Shoes Care Guide

Suede may be a little more delicate than leather, but cleaning and caring for suede shoes is a lot easier than you think

The quality of Oliver Sweeney (OS) shoes is never in question, however the sizing and the fit is so variable, I'm feeling delivery costs charged to the customer is harsh. Two different pairs of shoes from OS in exactly the same size can vary enormously in fit. And the customer has no way of knowing.
I'm a standard UK size 8.5, my foot width is just on the narrow side of medium. I have a number of OS shoes 8.5 or 9 that are a good fit. Many are not, including these Espadrilles.
These size 9s are fine on length, a comfortable width across the toe box, but they are so wide on the heel, there is room for someone else's foot, alongside!

I was really looking forward to getting my hands on these espadrilles. However, they gaped on both feet! Looked sloppy from the off, so dread to think what they’d look like once the suede was eased in. Frustratingly, had to return.
