Description

Our new light weight hiker is made from antique finished tan milled calf leather – a tumbled, grainy textured leather with a soft feel. The boot has a comfortably cushioned collar and tongue and a series of antique brass D-rings and ski hooks to ensure a flexible fit. We’ve added a tongue guard over the top of the tongue for extra protection from the elements. Inside there is a full leather cushioned insock and a ¾ calf leather lining. The upper is cemented to a Finproject ExtraLight sole - a deceptively lightweight, chunky cleated sole topped with a leather rand.

I wanted to share my recent experience with a pair of sturdy boots I purchased. While the boots themselves look great and feel fantastic, I've unfortunately had to replace the laces twice after just a handful of wears. It seems like the laces aren't holding up to the quality of the boots, which has been quite disappointing.

I believe it might be beneficial for OS to conduct more thorough quality checks on their suppliers' products to ensure that all components, including the laces, meet a high standard. The poor quality laces have somewhat spoiled the overall experience for me so far.

Poor quality laces

Having looked at these fashionable boots on more than one occasion I decided to purchase a pair. Sadly whilst doing them up on the 2nd wear the lace on the right boot decided it had had enough and snapped 🥲. I’m not sure how the quality checks are carried out here but I’m almost certain this is the behaviour of laces that have been worn in wind and rain. Please send me a new pair of laces.
